Dear Mr. West,
On behalf of the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, I am replying to your letter of December 15, 1999, in which you discuss a None-Of-The-Above option on ballot forms during elections. I am sorry for the delay in this reply, but the high volume of correspondence which Rideau Hall has received since the Governor General's appointment has made it difficult to answer letters as quickly as we would wish.
The Governor General appreciates receiving your thoughts and she thanks you for taking the time to write. While her schedule does not allow time for a personal reply to each letter, she is very interested in the views of Canadians.
Her Excellency sends you her best wishes.
Yours sincerely,
Deirdre Jackson
Correspondence Officer
